Back in October, Harpers Bazaar shared a bunch of 70s style icons and there was a photo of Farrah Fawcett (below) in wide-leg denim with an oversized blazer and color coordinated button down. Immediately I thought of this vintage blazer I got a couple years ago and had to recreate the look! I even left my shirt unbuttoned an extra button! It looks as though she had one more button un-done, but I'm not that brave.

P.S. Some sale updates:
SHOPBOP: Extra 20% off sale with code EXTRASALE
NET-A-PORTER: Now up to 70% off in sale!

Blazer: PBM Women's/vintage (Coco's $10 sale), Top c/o Oasis, Jeans: Free People (Marshalls), Boots: 3.1 Phillip Lim 'Peggy' (Barney's Warehouse), Necklace: BijouLimon (etsy)

The Inspiration:
Guess what: 10 days until Christmas!  I've been reaching for this sweater a lot lately, got to wear the heck out of it before Christmas is over.  This particular outfit is from a couple weekends ago. It was a rainy day so I decided to have my Dad take pictures for me inside.

Sweater: J.Crew (Factory), Jeans:  Rag & Bone (Shopbop), Boots: Vince Camuto (Marshalls), Necklace: BubuRuby

I also took a few pictures of my Mom's awesome decorating. Every December our house is a Christmas wonderland. I hope that one day I'll have a house that looks like this. Sadly right now I don't have enough items and am not as good at interior design. (I did hang up the stockings and put the ornaments in the vase though, go me!)

In stark contrast to yesterday's post, I love this outfit!  I have been wanting to wear these Tabitha Simmons boots since I bought them in July and was waiting for the perfect occasion. It seemed like that would never happen, so I made the occasion and just wore them on a plain old regular day!

They retailed for $1900 and I paid $74 after being very patient! I had seen them at Roundabout a few times before I actually bought them. Sadly, even though they were discounted, they were still expensive. When they had a 60% off sale, I scooped them up (along with a Burberry dress and cashmere sweater)! I featured them back in 2011 when Net-a-Porter debuted their "Runway to Green" collection where a portion of the sales went to leading environmental organizations. It's always funny when I end up buying something I shared on my blog years before.

Sweater: Inis Crafts (Marshalls), Jeans: J Brand c/o Marshalls, Boots: Tabitha Simmons (Roundabout Resale), Ring c/o Kendra Scott, Necklace: House of Harlow (South Moon Under)

Super short post today because I'm not really a fan of how this outfit turned out. But, rather than delete the photos and forget it ever happened, I figured I would share them anyway.  I wanted to wear this sweater, because it's awesome. But I didn't want to wear it with jeans again so I decided to pair it with these pants. I had wanted to wear heels, but sadly have no heels that matched, so I was reduced to wearing flats which make me look frumpy in these pants. And, to top it all off, this outfit is not photogenic at all! I wanted to delete every single picture, but I figure it's okay to show you guys that I'm not perfect. Not that my photos are perfect to begin with, but you get what I mean. It was good in theory, just not execution.

So there you have it...stick with what you know, folks! If I had just worn jeans, as is my uniform, this would have been a much better outfit.

Sweater: Phillip Lim x Target, Pants: Kenar c/o Marshalls, Flats: Liz Claiborne (DSW), Watch:  Marc by Marc Jacobs 'Henry Dinky' (Gilt)

Examples of both pieces in much better outfits:

Yesterday I shared my outfit from the Christmas Tree Farm, so today I'm sharing some pictures of the farm itself. For those of you in Connecticut, it's Jones Family Farms. This year there was a perfect blanket of snow covering the farm, great for getting us into the holiday spirit!
