This is my last outfit from the trip because I was too lazy/tired to take them of my real last outfit. Don't worry, it was just a sweater, jeans and these boots. Nothing too exciting. On this day we visited the Smithsonian Zoo hoping to see some pandas (red and regular.) Sadly the red panda habitat was being refurbished so he wasn't out.  But there were plenty of other animals to occupy us, most notably a crazy bear trying to get through the glass, a weird bird and some elephants taking a sand bath.

After the zoo we visited the Washington National Cathedral and walked around Georgetown. I even got to see some cherry blossoms on campus, which was a nice surprise because I knew I would be too early to see them! This day we were super tired so after dinner we headed home and watched Family Feud for 4 hours! Ha ha. It was a perfect end to the day.

Sweater: J. Crew (Roundabout Resale), Tee: Everlane, Jeans: J Brand 'high rise Maria' (Gilt), Boots: Vince Camuto (Marshalls),  Bag: Emm Kuo (Roundabout Resale), Sunglasses: Ray Ban 'Erika' (Ditto)

Day 2 my guide and I were met by 3 of our other friends for brunch at Founding Farmers! I had the chicken & waffles, which I had been looking forward to for over a month, and it did NOT disappoint! The chicken was crispy and salty and the waffle was perfect as well! I chose a bad day to wear my high waisted jeans, I had to unbutton them!

After stuffing our faces with tasty food we walked over to the White House and then the Lincoln Memorial and sat down for a rest followed by some more memorials. We ended the day by going to the Air and Space Museum and having dinner. (Don't worry, I'll be sharing actual photos from the trip too!)

P.S. Got my hairstyle from Lauren of Fizz and Frosting!

Sweater: Madewell, Jeans: J Brand 'high rise Maria' (Gilt), Boots: Vince Camuto (Marshalls),  Bag: Emm Kuo (Roundabout Resale)

Last weekend I visited one of my best friends in DC to see the sights and eat lots of food. Mostly to get the chicken & waffles at Founding Farmers; more on that tomorrow. On my first day (Saturday) I got a tour of some of the museums and visited the United States Capital building and Washington Monument. This was one of the colder days of the trip but it warmed up by the last two days!

This was my first time visiting DC so it was great to have a tour guide who knows where they're going. Got to see all the important stuff and also not look like a complete tourist. Unfortunately the building was getting a bit of a face-lift but it still made a good background for outfit photos!

Shearling Jacket: thrifted, Cashmere Turtleneck: Vince (Marshalls), Jeans: Frame 'Le Skinny de Jeanne' (Shopbop), Flats: Chanel (eBay), Bag: Emm Kuo (Roundabout Resale)

It's getting warmer out there folks! The past couple days have broken records for the highest temperatures in Connecticut. That's what I'm talking about!  I could have taken these photos without my sweater on, but I figured it completed the look and I have plenty of time to wear it without another layer.  My mom picked up this top for me at Kohl's for $3, SCORE!

Also, it has been FIVE YEARS since my photoshoot with The Outnet in New York City...my first big event as a blogger. My how time flies! Speaking of The Outnet, they're currently having their Clearance Sale!

Cardigan: Banana Republic, Tee: Thakoon for DesiNation (Kohl's),  Jeans: Free People, Flats: Burberry Prorsum (Net-a-Porter Sale)

Another slightly weird outfit for this week's throwback, but one that I still like. I guess the only really out of place piece is the shoes, but what's life without some weird print mixing?  I can't believe this outfit is from 4 years ago. My how time flies!!

Sweater: French Connection, Skirt: made by mom, Scarf: made by me, Heels: Miu Miu (eBay)
