As I posted yesterday, I attended an Endless Jewelry event hosted by Simply Majestic at Mystic Aquarium last week.  Endless Jewelry was started by Jesper Nielsen, one of the co-founders of Pandora, in 2013 and expanded the company to the US this year. Endless Jewelry is a similar concept to Pandora. You can buy a leather band (which has a magnetic closure) in a variety of colors and then add as many charms as you desire. Charms come in gold, silver and rose gold and some contain precious stones. Of the new line, Jesper says:
“I wanted to create something special, something that brings the classic collectible jewelry up to date,” says Neilsen. “I wanted to make a statement and let everybody else take part, or make their own. For me it’s not just a product—this is what we are. This is Endless. It’s going to be the next super brand, and we’re already on our way.”
The aquarium was such a fun setting for the event and Endless Jewelry really ran with it by using shells, starfish and other items you find in the ocean on their displays.  Part of the proceeds from the evening went to help support Mystic Aquarium and their mission.  I was particularly taken with the owl charm, grey pearl dream charm, penguin charm, and the purple band (obviously.)

Lydia and I had time to spare before the event started, so we drove the couple minutes down to Mystic Seaport for photos. It was perfect timing, everything had closed so there was no one there! A couple people walked by, but for the most part we were undisturbed, which was perfect because I always hate when people look at me...

And a couple party snaps:

Last week I was invited over to Mystic Aquarium for an Endless Jewelry event hosted by Simply Majestic. I asked Lydia to come along because I know she loves a good event and I hate going to things alone!  Since the event didn't start until 6, and we wanted to avoid the traffic, Mystic kindly offered us passes to visit the aquarium beforehand! I hadn't been in about 7 years and have been wanting to go back for quite some time. (check out Lydia's post too)

It was a beautiful day to watch the beluga whales and penguins outside. The whole place had been decorated for Halloween, which was a fun surprise! They even put pumpkins and skulls inside the fish tanks in the main gallery. There are so many interesting (and educational!) exhibits going on right now - check them all out! Unfortunately, we missed the Sea Lion show because we were too amused by one of their new exhibits - Jellies: The Ocean in Motion. I did a quick hyperlapse of some of the jellies floating around:
We also made sure to check out their latest 4D movie - SEA MONSTERS 4-D: A Prehistoric Adventure which follows the life of sea monster. Where does the 4D come in you may be thinking? Well, be prepared for water to shoot at you and even teeth to puncture your back while you're watching the fully immersive 3D movie.  It was really fun, although I wasn't in the best outfit to get wet.

Lydia and I didn't want to bring two outfits so we decided to do transitional looks.  I think hers was more successful since my dress is really dressy to begin with. But I think sporting flats and a leather jacket helped to dress it down a little bit more. Check back tomorrow for my event outfit and a recap of the evening.

Aquarium photos:
Would you believe me if I told you this jacket wasn't real suede? Well, it's not, hence it's very low price tag at Kohl's! It is from Elie Tahari's Design Nation collection, inspired by New York City! There were so many fun pieces, but I ultimately thought this was the best addition to my wardrobe.

Kohl's recently launched a new program Yes2You Rewards and I'm lucky enough to be included in a "Fashionista Preview Group" so I'll keep up to date on the program and other fun promotions at the stores.  Basically you earn 1 point per dollar spent and get a $5 gift certificate every 100 points as well as 8 other promotions during the year.

Since I don't go out (trick-or-treating or partying,) it is not one of my favorite holidays to celebrate, but I LOVE the time leading up to Halloween. All through October I watch my favorite Halloween themed movies over and over and over. Who doesn't love Casper, Hocus Pocus, Teen Witch, Halloweentown and all the other fun movies we watched as kids? (I don't do scary movies)

Reusing some photos from last year to celebrate. (I STILL haven't actually worn this at a Halloween party, I don't get invited to parties, haha...I did wear it to the office last year, without the hat.) So, here I am as Willy Wonka!

This month started off with some free clothes thanks to my Mom taking me birthday shopping! For the rest of the month I tried to resist buying clothes but, as we all know, I'm a shopaholic so I did a bit more shopping. I bought a purple leopard sweater, how could I resist two of my favorite things?!

I also splurged on a Lo & Sons bag after seeing one featured on Jessica's blog. I have a few vacations planned for next year and it will definitely come in handy for those as well as weekend trips! I've already used it a couple times since buying it, so handy!
