This outfit is a little out there, but I still like it! Without the blazer it's slightly more normal but it was a very chilly day so I  decided to go monochromatic-ish with my layers. I can pretty much wear this dress with anything underneath. Previously I wore it with my Zara crop top and a black shirt.

I wore this for a little mid-week excursion with my parents to Kringle Candle in Bernadston, Massachusetts. While I technically played hooky for the day, I really didn't. I had my computer on hand so I could work in the car on the 2 hour drive if need be and I worked from about 3-8 once we got home. That's the good thing about freelance, I don't have to work 9-5, although I usually do. It's just nice to have some flexibility if I need/want to do something during the day.

Blazer: PBM Women's (Coco's $10 Sale),  Top: Altuzarra for Target, Sweater Dress: Miss Selfridge (Lord & Taylor), Necklace: Madewell, Boots: Miu Miu (Roundabout Resale), Bag: Dark Purple Chloé Faye (eBay), Sunglasses: Gucci (bought in Italy), Eyeglasses chain: Tinksky (Amazon)

The store is FULL of candles (and Christmas decor) but it doesn't smell like you've walked into a perfume shop full of smells. They also have a house-wear/Christmas/toy/food shop as well as a chocolate shop to enjoy!

We also stopped at The Farm Table, Kringle Candle's farm to table restaurant, for lunch. I had "The Lulu" a DELICIOUS flatbread with pickled onions, cured Italian meats, mozzarella and some oregano. My dad had the Thai Shrimp wrap and my mom went for a special - the squash & brussell sprout risotto.

Each fashion week I go through all the collections to choose my favorite outfits* as well as looks I would like to recreate with pieces in my own closet. This look from the Belstaff Fall 2017 collection was pretty easy to recreate, the only piece I had an issue with was the striped top since I only have 3 and they're mostly Summery. But this Zara tee did the trick! Add in some purple accessories and I was good to go!

*I haven't finished going through the September collections yet because life has been a bit hectic...OOPS!

Shearling Jacket: thrifted, Tee: Zara, Jeans: J Brand 811 Photo Ready Mid-Rise Skinny (Gilt), Shoes: Vince 'Maxon' in Fig (DSW), Bag: Dark Purple Chloé Faye (eBay)

The inspiration:

This past Sunday I attended another fun CT Blogger Babes event with Lydia. This time it was a sip & shop at Pearls & Plaid in Old Saybrook, CT. You may recall I wore a sweater from Pearls & Plaid on the blog last week. I was excited to see what new offerings they have for Fall/Winter. There were SO MANY super soft cozy sweaters, I wanted to take them all home! I almost bought one and then decided to behave since I'm trying not to add anything new to my closet until next year. It's always so much fun shopping with other bloggers and chatting about what's trending and anything else under the sun.

Dress: Missoni Purple Wool Chevron Metallic Knit Sweater Dress (HauteTrader), Faux Shearling Vest: Ella Moss (Marshalls), Boots: Cordani (Roundabout Resale), Necklace: Acanthus Jewelry "Gemma", Bag: Chloé Faye (eBay)

And some photos from the event:

This is what I wore back in 2012 when I FINALLY met J.K. Rowling for the first time. She was doing a reading for her book, The Casual Vacancy, at Lincoln Center and signed autographs after. So when I say met, I mean was in line, got my book signed and quickly said "thank you so much!!!!!!" I've been in her vicinity quite a few times but sadly have never had the chance to say more than that to her.

I really loved the pants I had on in the original outfit but I got rid of them because the fit was just a little too odd and since they were from ASOS they deteriorated a bit. But now I have these purple pants from Banana Republic that I got during my event at a local store!

Sweater: T. Babaton c/o Aritzia & Lucky, Pants c/o Banana Republic 'Sloan' (in purple), Heels: Miu Miu (eBay), Necklace: Vanessa Mooney giveaway

The Original: (Pants: ASOS)
I bought these patchwork boots for a STEAL ($12) back in May and was so excited to finally wear them. I thought since they had multiple colors they'd be easy to style but when I went to pair them with pieces I found myself stumped for something stylish. I could have just worn them with a basic sweater, but for their first outing I wanted something more fun. In the end I went with my Zara crop top to bring out all the colors of the boots and finished it off with my soft purple cape.

Cashmere Cape: b chyll - similar (Roundabout), Crop Top: Zara (similar), Jeans: J Brand 'Maria' High Rise in Supreme (Gilt Groupe), Patchwork Boots: Impo 'Omega' (DSW), Bag: Emm Kuo 'Calle Bahia' (Roundabout Resale), Sunglasses: Chanel

I finally got to wear this cashmere sweater I bought back in July for a mere $25. Gotta love end of season sales, right?! This has been such an odd, warm Fall season. I didn't even need to wear a sweater on this particular day but I wore it anyway because it was the end of October.

Striped Cashmere Sweater: Alice + Olivia (Roundabout), Jeans: IRO "Faxy Cropped Jean" (Gilt c/o Wikibuy), Bucket Bag: Tommy Hilfiger (Clinton Crossing), Mouse Flats: Marc by Marc Jacobs (Shopbop)
