I hardly ever wear my blazers anymore so I decided to pull one out this past weekend for no reason at all. This is one of my favorites because of the print mixing, color and the added touches of velvet. Such an amazing piece and I scored it for $188 4 years ago! And, as luck would have it, I found one for $200 on eBay if you like it!

It's still chilly out there, folks! Hopefully Spring arrives soon, but until then I'll continue to get wear out of my favorite sweaters before they go away until next Fall! I wore this over the weekend for a quick trip to Terrain and Home Goods. Getting home inspiration is always a fun Sunday activity.

Earlier this month Azaggi jewelry offered me a couple pieces from their affordable and high quality line of jewelry. They have all different styles of jewelry perfect for everyday wear or special occasions. Azaggi is based in Los Angeles, CA and was founded in 2012. I really appreciate companies that give back and Azaggi supports environmental, educational, community, and charity campaigns. They are also committed to socially responsible sourcing and manufacturing to minimize environmental impact.

Since I'm reaching capacity on my fingers I decided to choose two sterling silver necklaces. I picked out a really pretty crescent moon and a tiny owl hoping I would be able to layer them together. I got a 20 inch chain for the moon and 18 inches for the owl and they work perfectly when layered. When I showed my mom she thought it was one necklace.

I am super happy with the quality of these pieces, you can feel the weight of the silver when holding on to the charms which I really appreciate. Sometimes with silver pieces can feel light and cheap, these feel like super high quality pieces without the large price tag. Both pieces come in under $40 ($38 and $33 to be exact.)

By a happy coincidence the necklace almost perfectly matches a pair of tiny owl rings my sister got me for my birthday a few years ago. Maybe I can get a pair of crescent moon earrings and do a nice mix and match!

Just as I thought I was done needing my snow boots we got hit with a Nor'easter last week and had about a foot of snow in the yard.  But that gave me a chance to break them out for this week's throwback outfit! I wore this for a day of working at the house and then headed out to run some errands. I was too lazy to put on makeup so I just dabbed on some red lipstick so my face wasn't so bare. (Not that I normally wear a lot of makeup, just blush and mascara, haha)

"BOOM!" Sweatshirt: Phillip Lim for Target, Jeans: rag & bone (Shopbop), Boots: Grandma's  Ring: Kendra Scott "Naomi double ring"

The original:
I wore this last weekend to go out to lunch with my two best friends. I haven't worn sneakers in a while so decided to throw them on with this basic look. I still feel odd when I wear sneakers, not sure why, but at least these make a statement with their leopard print in calf hair. Not a practical sneaker, but they sure are fun!

And, as you can see, we got a nice snowstorm last week and another supposedly coming today. Lots of downed branches all over town from the weight of the snow and the wind. Crazy!

Sweater: Calvin Klein, Tee: Everlane, Jeans: J Brand 'Mid Rise Photo Ready Super Skinny Jean' (Gilt), Sneakers: Nike iD c/o, Bag: Dark Purple Chloé Faye (eBay), Sunglasses: Chanel, Glasses chain: Tinksky (Amazon), Necklace: House of Harlow 1960 'Five Station Blackened Arrowhead'

I am still immensely proud of this shirt that I DIYed. It was inspired by Burberry Prorsum's Pre-Fall and Fall 2012 collection. I still want the adorable fox sweater from the same collection (it remains on my eBay search list.) Also, remember the first time I wore these Everlane jeans and said they would look better with no socks? I was right! Soooo much better this time.  Next time I might roll up the hem a bit too, we'll see!

Last Thursday I was invited to a blogger/media dinner at Jack's Steakhouse in New Haven.  Jack's opened in October 2017 in the heart of New Haven. It's close to theaters and Yale so you will have a lot to do before and after your meal. There is even a special Bistro Room where you can seat up to 56 guests for an event. Monday through Saturday they have a 2-course prix fixe lunch for $21. We were there on Thursday night so we got to enjoy live music from a local musician.

It was a little warmer that day so I was able to go sans coat (sans sweater too, but I wanted an extra element to my look.) I've been wanting to wear this snakeskin blouse for a while since it doesn't get as much love as it should and this seemed like the perfect occasion! It was dark by the time Lydia and I were ready for photos so please excuse the use of flash.

Cardigan: J.Crew (Roundabout), Top: Jason Wu snakeskin pussy-bow blouse (Roundabout), Jeans: Free People flares (Marshalls), Boots: 3.1 Phillip Lim 'Peggy' in patent leather and pony-hair (Barney's Warehouse), Bag: Louis Vuitton Epi Leather Sac D'Epaule (HauteTrader)

On to the food at Jack's Steakhouse. We enjoyed a 4 course meal and got to sample a bunch of different dishes family style. As one would expect from bloggers, once the plates arrived we all spent a few minutes lighting the table with our phones so we could get photos of the food.

My personal favorites were the Beet Salad, Bourbon Glazed Pork Belly Chunks, Curry Cauliflower and Porterhouse steak. The Beet Salad came with roasted red and golden beets, baby kale, pumpkin seeds and maple syrup vinaigrette. It also comes with a goat cheese croquette, which I did not sample (I'm a weirdo who hates cheese on most foods.) The pork belly chunks were roasted for 3 hours and were made with bourbon, brown sugar, salt and teriyaki sauce. The cauliflower was in a delicious curry sauce that added so much flavor. Finally, the Porterhouse steak was 44oz of wet aged beef and was soooooo tasty! I definitely had more than a few slices of that.
