Follow Me
I bought two things this month, but sadly you won't be seeing them until after my wedding. Yep. I found my wedding dress (and shoes!) It's not a traditional dress because I'm not doing the traditional wedding thing, but it's super pretty! I got it during Net-a-Porter's sale with an extra 20% off (same with the shoes) and used advertising money on it. BOOM.

But, instead of a blank post this week I decided to show off the closet in my house since you all haven't seen it yet! We've been in our house a little over 2 months and pretty much have it all furnished - except our finished basement. I'll slowly be sharing little pieces on the blog (like my collection wall in the living room.)

It's closet time!! I painted the walls purple after we moved in because it's my favorite color and I wanted the room to be extra fun.  Eventually I want to get a whole custom IKEA closet system in here, but for now I'm sticking with pieces I already had from previous closets. You can see my closet when I rented a house with my friend; she let me use the third small room in the house as a closet. When I lived with 2 of my cousins my closet was actually my bedroom/closet because I took the smallest room in the house.

Welcome to the closet room
This dresser is actually a baby changing table if you fold out the top. But now it is a double layer shelf for my accessories and some beauty products
The shoe and sweater corner
Hello, clothes!
Handy dandy Target clothing racks!
This is actually a bookshelf. But it's perfect for shoes!
Shoe shelving from Target!
My lovely IKEA shelves! Super heavy but I love them.
Some family heirlooms
Nail polish collection
Some of my bags
Dresses!
Shirts!
My beloved Chanel bag and fun LV bucket bag!
My daily rings, which have been put on hold since the engagement and for the heat of Summer. But they'll be back on my hands eventually! Just maybe not all at once like I used to wear them.
Sweaters galore! (Should be interesting when I get my bulky winter ones out of storage)
A closet within my closet. This used to be steps up to the attic but now it's a perfect tiered shelving unit for extra shoes and my shoe boxes (I only keep the expensive boxes.) The attic is now accessible through the ceiling
This is the closet in the guest room, I commandeered it for my blazers
Worn for our daily walk in the park one day last week. It's been so hot lately that I've not wanted to wear anything. Unfortunately that's frowned upon in public so I chose an airy skirt and tank top combo. Sadly my phone has outgrown this purse so if I have no pockets in my outfit I'm stuck holding it the whole time. But it's so cute that it's worth it! It was also the first thing I ever bought at Net-a-Porter. I had won a gift card in 2010 through their old affiliate network and used that to buy it.

Top: Tinley Road (Piperlime), Skirt: made by mom, Sandals: Mula c/o Marshalls, Bag: Marc by Marc Jacobs 'Perfect Purse ostrich-effect PVC' (Net-a-Porter), Necklace: BubuRuby (etsy), Sunglasses: Gucci

I wasn't in the mood to take outfit pictures in the heat when I wore this outfit so we decided to do an indoor shoot with my collection wall! These two shelving units are from my grandparents house. My grandfather made them YEARS ago (we're talking way before I was born) and offered them to us when we moved. There were 3 separate pieces but we weren't sure if we'd need or be able to fit all three and just took 2. They weren't painted so rather than having dark brown wood shelves we painted them white so whatever we put on them would pop.

90% of the items on the shelves are mine, thanks to my understanding fiancé. He let me have them to show off my collectibles and he gets to turn the finished basement into a video game/man cave area. Luckily he loves Harry Potter too (and likes Disney) so he doesn't mind having that be the focal point of the living room. Most of my Harry Potter items (left shelving unit) are pretty rare. This is only a small selection of my collection, I have at least 5 rubbermaids full of more stuff. This is just the best of the best.

The other unit is a mixture of Disney and other items. You'll see some Game of Thrones, The Princess Bride, Lord of the Rings, a nod to Gilmore Girls and some of fiancés books. I also have some of my gemstones mixed in here and there. They used to be displayed all in one place but I decided to spread them throughout the house. I don't have as much rare Disney memorabilia but I hope to change that eventually, it's just hard to know where to start! I do have more that's not on display since it's in boxes, so we'll see what comes and goes from the shelves as we organize.

Tee: Vince (The Outnet), Floral Shorts: Zara, Suede Mules: Franco Sarto 'Dolly (DSW)

I've had this dress for almost 8 years and it remains a favorite. The obvious reason is because it's purple, but I also love the "dancing lights" pattern. It's is just so much fun.  It also matches perfectly with my Marc Jacobs bag and Sseko sandals! I couldn't redo the same sandal tie I did in the original outfit (you can tie these any way you want with different color fabric strips!) so I had the photographer/fiance try his hand at it. I think he did a pretty darn good job!

Dress: Marc by Marc Jacobs, Bag: Marc by Marc Jacobs 'Natural Selection Mini Messenger Bag' (Saks Fifth Avenue), Sandals c/o Sseko Designs, Necklace: SPARKLEFARM (etsy), Sunglasses: Gucci

The original:
Keeping things extra short and sweet today since I had a crazy work day yesterday! I've been meaning to wear this outfit for a few weeks but it has been so hot lately I had to keep putting it off. Finally we had a cooler day so I could wear these pants. I'm not 100% happy with my shoe choice but I haven't worn these much since getting them for my birthday last year and decided to give them some love.

Top: Natalie Martin 'Jackie' tank (Roundabout), Pants: G.H. Bass c/o Clinton Crossing,  Floral Mules: Kelly & Katie "Amour" (DSW), Frog Necklace: ShopNBC  (giveaway)

Everyone is obsessing over the Nordstrom sale and here I am talking about The Outnet's Clearance Sale and Net-a-Porter's End of Season Sale! Both are in their final stretch (last 8 hours for The Outnet) so its the time to scoop up amazing deals!  You can get an extra 20% off "Sale Must-Haves" over at Net-a-Porter - the discount will be applied once you start the checkout process. Get an extra 25% off at The Outnet with code LASTCHANCE!

Some of my favorite wardrobe pieces are from the Net-a-Porter sale in years past! From my Lanvin sandals and MIH jeans to Burberry dresses and DKNY sweaters I've gotten so many amazing deals. Here's what I would add to my closet from this sale if I didn't have a mortgage to pay. BUT I did buy my wedding dress and shoes in the Net-a-Porter sale last week! Won't share them until after though. (Hopefully the shoes fit!)
