It's been a while since my last major closet update in Summer 2023. This time my upgrade was kind of an impulse purchase. We went to IKEA to get some new pieces for Christian's office and while we were there I decided I wanted to add a third bookcase to my closet and glass doors on one of them to protect my bags and some shoes.
Previously I had 2 Billy bookcases and a Kallax shelf unit (with a couple Target shoe racks on top) to house my sweaters, shoes, bags, etc. With this update the wall is now made up of 3 Billy bookcases. We sold the block-y shelf and one of the shoe shelves remains in my closet in case I need more space, which at this point I should not, ha ha! I also bought 5 extra Billy shelves and have 2 leftover so I can make shorter shelves in the future.
In this process I purged a few items, but not as many as I wanted. It's always so hard to get rid of things, even if I don't wear them often. The closet within my closet had the most removed, but then I hung all my Disney tees in there (they were on the cube shelving previously) as well as putting my travel bags on the shelves, so it's still very full. There's some space on my new bookcase for more pieces, which is nice.
