Almost forgot about these photos from the middle of February! My parents, Christian and I went to visit my brother and his new puppy and we went to the Submarine Force Library and Museum. It's free to visit and you get to go inside the Nautilus submarine. Super cool experience. I couldn't imagine being on one of those for months on end.

It was REALLY cold and windy so Christian and I snapped these photos SUPER quickly. Can you see me wincing in pain. And my hair did not want to cooperate. But the outfit was cute so I can't not share now that I remembered they were on his phone!

Cardigan: Cocogio (Marshalls), Top: Philosophy (Marshalls), Jeans: J Brand 'Mid Rise Photo Ready Super Skinny Jean' (Gilt), Boots: Vince Camuto 'Davilla' (Marshalls) Bag: Louis Vuitton Epi Leather Sac D'Epaule (HauteTrader), Sunglasses: Chanel

Last weekend we had a nice Spring-like day so I decided to wear light layers. I ended up not needing the purple cardigan, but it adds some extra color to the look and who doesn't love jewel tones? Funny how there can still be a lot of snow on the ground but it was almost 60 degrees outside. Ahh Mother Nature, so weird.

Cardigan: Max Studio, Shirt: Philosophy (Marshalls), Corduroy Pants: Abercrombie, Two-Tone Ballet Flats: Chanel (eBay), Sunglasses: Chanel

Autumn is the time for light layers. What better to layer with than a fun vest over a long sleeve top? This is my newest vest, bringing my total up to three! And they are all different which is great. This shirt is also one of my favorite buys from the past couple years. It is soft, comfortable AND makes me look super thin. I know, I know, I'm already skinny, but there's just something about it that makes me feel extra good. I think it's the black sleeves and horizontal stripes with varying colors.

Top: Philosophy (Marshalls), Vest: Simply Vera Vera Wang c/o Kohl's, Jeans: FRAME 'Le Skinny de Jeanne Jeans' (Shopbop), Flats: Diane von Furstenberg (Marshalls)

This is what I wore for my first day in London. Most of the day was spent walking around, shopping and sightseeing. A big group of us also went to Pizza Express for dinner, because I had to have their dough balls  - so good! I also made a few of my fellow travelers find Denmark Street, the street Cormoran Strike lives/works on. Strike is the main character of J.K. Rowling's crime series under her pseudonym Robert Galbraith. Such good books!

These photos were taken outside Cafe Boheme, where I met up with a friend who lives in London for some tea (water for me).

Top: Philosophy (Marshalls), Jacket: Ralph Lauren (TJ Maxx), Jeans: J Brand 'Maria High Rise Skinny' in Supreme (Gilt), Boots: Vince Camuto (Marshalls), Rings: old, Marc by Marc Jacobs, Lumo 'Violet, Lumo 'Rope', Sunglasses: Ray-Ban 'Erika' (Ditto), Bag: Chanel

Two weekends ago I had the privilege of being Haley Webb's handler at a Teen Wolf convention in New Jersey called Howler Con. To get all the questions out of the way, 1. No, I don't watch the show and 2. My friend was running the convention and wanted non-fans to watch over the celebrities to avoid crazy fan-girling situations. Basically my job was to make sure Haley was on time for all her panels, photo ops and other events during the weekend and to make sure no one harassed her.

She is one of the nicest people I've met, we had a lot of fun! Even when we got lost outside in the 30 degree weather (I didn't have my jacket on at that point.)  She has definitely found a new fan in me and I will be sure to keep up with her career! I also found out that she was super shy when she was younger, just like me, so there is hope for me to become more outgoing!

I didn't have time to take outfit pictures at the convention, so I just wore both outfits again last week. Why not? It's not like the same people were going to see me in them. Plus, they were cute, so who cares if I wear them 5 times in the same week.

So, here is what I wore on the first day!

Top: Philosophy (Marshalls), Jacket: Elie Tahari x Design Nation c/o Kohl's, Jeans: Current/Elliott (The Outnet), Boots: Vince Camuto (Marshalls), Bag: Marc by Marc Jacobs 'Natural Selection Messenger Bag' (Saks Fifth Avenue)

I'm continuing with the French Wardrobe Challenge, but changing the rules a bit for myself. Looks like both Jessica and I had the same idea! I'm switching it from 5 to 7 items and allowing myself to buy as many shoes as my heart desires, within reason, of course. While I will still be discerning with all my purchases, it will be nice to have a little more freedom. I'm also going to be more lenient when it comes to "basics" by not restricting to black/white and gray since I wear a lot of burgundy and purple. I have a clothing budget for each month that I'm usually pretty good about sticking to, so that helps curb my purchases as well!  Will you be doing the challenge this season?
This first month I told myself I wasn't allowed to buy anything since I splurged on a pair of Chanel flats last month. But, as per usual, I couldn't  keep that promise. Most of what I bought was paid for with gift cards, so it wasn't a total fail! I did buy a new Marrin Costello necklace and a couple Altuzarra for Target pieces without gift cards. But the Target stuff would have sold out if I waited, so I had to, right? Not really a good excuse, but the collection had lots of purple and burgundy! What's a girl to do?
Near the end of the month I used up an Amazon gift card to buy a pair of Cole Haan sandals I've been wanting since May. They were the last size 8 in the purple color I wanted so I went for it! I paid more than the $49.99 price tag at Marshalls, BUT it was a gift card. The design is simple enough that I'll be able to wear them for years to come. They aren't technically a Fall item, so I won't include them in the remaining roundups.
While I wasn't totally successful in not buying anything I was thoughtful with my purchases, so it's alright.  This weekend my mom is taking my sister and I out birthday shopping (mine is in a couple weeks!) so maybe I'll be able to hold out the rest of the month and not buy anything... (doubtful)

  3. Basics don’t count.
