My friend Koatha requested that I find a cheaper version of the Free People skirt that Vicky from Bikinis and Passports wore in this post, but as a dress.  This was another difficult one, as always, ha ha...you guys sure know how to stump me. I'm not sure what the skirt retails for so I just made sure it was under $100CAD. I think the Forever 21 dress is the closest match, and it just happens to be the cheapest too, yay! (I might suggest DIYing some sequins and stuff on it to get it even closer...)
Before I get to the cheap matches, check out this amazing Anna Sui dress that is REALLY close, except for the fact that it is black. It was just added to the Net-a-Porter End of Season Sale yesterday.

Forever 21 $29.80CAD
ASOS #1 $79.67CAD
ASOS #2 (Vero Moda) $49.57
ASOS #3 (Lipsy) $97.38
Jenna requested a dress for less this past weekend for a very special day:
Hi, I'm looking for a dress for less for my wedding/honeymoon going away outfit. I need a cute ensamble for leaving the wedding hotel/driving to london/plane ride/arrival in Orlando for my honeymoon!
It needs to be comfortable but I also need to make a bit of an effort for my new hubby! I'll need something to keep me warm if the UK weather takes a turn but also adaptable to the florida sunshine when I arrive!
I am looking to spend about £50 and willing to shop online or uk stores. No colours are out and was thinking some kind of a dress as a starting point!
Since she will be traveling a lot it needed to be very comfortable and also able to keep her warm on the plane but then very cool once she arrives in the heat of Florida. This was a lovely challenge, and hopefully I succeeded!
Dress: Forever 21 £14.50
This dress was a very close second, but I decided to go for a more simple look instead, but this will work well with the items too:  Forever 21 £19.75
Cardigan: Forever 21 £9.99
Necklace: Fashion Union £8 or £7.2*
Sandals: Fashion Union £8 or £7.2*
Purse: Fashion Union £12 or £10.8*
TOTAL: £52.49 OR £49.69*
* If it is your first purchase at Fashion Union you can use the code FIRST for 10% off!

P.S. Luello.com is having a giveaway where you can win a $2500 shopping spree!! YAY!
I haven't had a requested Dress for Less in a while so I was quite excited to help out Anna with her request:
I need a nice fashionable outfit that's cute and sexy at the same time, for the first day of university :) my budget is £50 :) any stores you like, I don't have any particular items, and I love the colours grey, white, black and pink :) although I don't mind any colours, apart from red and orange :)
She starts school in the fall so I tried to make this layered so if it is a hot day she can remove a layer and if it gets cold she can add another. I also decided to keep the colors simple and then add a pop of pink with the necklace.
Flats - £10
Dress - £17
Cardigan - £15.99
Necklace - £8
Total: £50.99

Also, Net-a-Porter's End of Season Sale has started!!! EXCITEMENT! You can get up to 50% off some items!

For the next 2 days I will be featuring a fun online vintage store called Back in Style. It was too long to put into one post. Today I am posting a Dress for Less look featuring items from the store and tomorrow I will be posting 3 looks I created with pieces they sent me.

Rather than explaining the store myself here's what they have to say about themselves: At Back In Style.com you'll find a carefully selected collection of women's and men's vintage & designer clothing and accessories, and one of the largest vintage Emilio Pucci collections in the world! This vintage boutique offers unique clothing as current as this season and as vintage as the 1940 's because we believe the best way to wear retro couture is to modernize your look by blending it with the contemporary pieces.

For this look the 1970s jacket is the key piece so I kept everything else very basic. This whole outfit is under $150 (actually, it's exactly $135)
Blazer $65
Michael Stars Tee $10
Gold Sign Jeans $50
Heels $10
TOTAL: $135
When I was perusing ASOS for my High Tea dress I came upon a couple dresses that reminded me of the Prada S/S 2011 collection, so of course I had to share my finds with you gals!
ASOS (Pink) - $53.79
ASOS (Green) - $53.79
Kookai - $116.55
Last weekend when I got home from my crazy shopping spree I realized that the tan wedges I got were very reminiscent of the amazing Givenchy wedges that have been on my Wish List on net-a-porter for ages (I have so much stuff on that wish list that I know I'll never be able to afford, I just like to look at them, ha ha.)  So that made me think I should do a Lust, Love, Less version of Dress for Less since I haven't in a while. That was easier said than done, but I think I found another okay match, its not nearly as good as the Crown Vintage ones but it has the same feel.  Enjoy!
Givenchy - $1190
KEY Té - $190
Crown Vintage - $59.95
Earlier in the week I got a Dress for Less request from Natalia. She asks: "I would like you to create a cute but practical mom look with lots of color. I am a mom of two boys facing the challenge of daily looking cute, but also being able to play with my boys. I can shop at h&m, zara, mango and other random European shops. But as super cheap as possible! Thanks!"

Since Natalia is a mother of boys I went against using heels and dresses in this look since we all know how boys can be.  Now if it were girls, that would be a different story ;) (unless it was a girl like me, I was a crazy young child) I went with plain jeans since they are a staple in any wardrobe and can be dressed up or down. For a night out all Natalie has to do with this look is change her shoes and maybe swap out the scarf for a rings, bracelets, earrings and necklace.  Also, if you want you can switch out the jeans for a maxi skirt. I tried using more color than this but it kept looking like clown clothes so I toned things down. ;)
Prices in GBP, all from H&M: Jeans: 9.99, Cardigan: 7.99, Top: 2.99,  Flats: 7.99, Scarf: - 4.99, Bag:14.99
TOTAL: 48.94
Maxi Skirt: H&M - 12.99

Here is Part 3 of my Spring Trends Dress for Less series! I'm picking a few of the key trends for Spring 2011 and showing you how you can get those looks for less in a series of posts!  For this post I chose Girly.  If you guys like this you can suggest more spring trends for me to do! :)

Girly: The girly look can be achieved in many ways!  You want to look for light, flowy pieces in blush tones.  Some lace or sheerness would also be a great thing to use in your look.
Just like with the 70s I opted to choose separate pieces instead of a whole look. The top left dress is expensive at $216, but it's Anna Sui and very pretty, so I had to include it ;)
Here comes Part 2 of my Spring Trends Dress for Less series! Like I said in the first part, I'm going to pick a few of the key trends for Spring 2011 and show you how you can get those looks for less in a series of posts!  For this post I chose the Seventies. Next up is Girly.  If you guys like this you can suggest more spring trends for me to do! :)

Seventies: The easiest way to get the 70s look is to grab a pair of super wide legged jeans and add a pretty top tucked in to them like Derek Lam or Elie Tahari.  Some clogs wouldn't hurt either.  You can also go for the Brady Bunch look a la Rodarte's collection. Or wear a 70s like dress as seen in Marc Jacobs' collections.
Rather than doing a full look for this trend I decided to pick some pieces you can incorporate into your wardrobe because wearing all 70s stuff could look a bit time-warpy. ;) The green skirt isn't exactly cheap, but I really liked it so I included it anyway, ha ha.
Since yesterday was the official first day of Spring it's only fitting to talk about hot Spring trends! This edition of Dress for Less is going to be a bit different from usual.  I'm going to pick a few of the key trends for Spring 2011 and show you how you can get those looks for less in a series of posts!  For this post I chose Color Blocking and Jewel Tones. Next up is Seventies, followed by Girly.  If you guys like this you can suggest more spring trends for me to do this with! :)

Color Blocking and Jewel Tones:  Color blocking is pretty simple, all you need to do is take a bunch of separates of different colors and wear them together (or a dress can work too).  And it doesn't have to be with bright colors like these, but Jewel Tones are another trend so I figured I would kill two birds with one stone.

You can wear these pieces all together or mix them with other pieces in your wardrobe if it's too wild for you.
Happy Monday everyone! ...except not really since that means I have to go to work. But I only have to go to work 4 days this week!! I'm taking Friday off for something very fun related to the blog, but more on that later since I can't tell you yet! (torture, I know!) :D

The moment I saw this A|Wear dress it screamed "that purple faux wrap dress by Marc Jacobs" so I had to do a dress for less for you all to enjoy!  The second match (labeled Love) isn't as good but I couldn't do a Lust, Love, Less without the Love now could I? ;)
Marc by Marc Jacobs $215
Vanessa Bruno Athe $138.25
A|Wear $37.65
Today I have a requested Dress for Less inspired by one of Jason Wu's Fall 2011 dresses.  Reader Samantha requested this Dress for Less a while ago, sorry I took so long to get it up! Vero Moda $44.83
Modcloth $47.99
Erdem (shorter) $313.5
Erdem $1560

Not Pictured:
Johann Earl $80.69
Oasis $116.55

Yesterday I posted this look from the Jenni Kayne show and I just had to make a Dress for Less with it.  Even though it's for next Fall you can totally wear it now (just add tights if you live where I do), I would... *drools*  I couldn't find burgundy velvet shorts so I switched the colors around. Its not as perfect as I would like it to be, but its pretty close and has the same feeling.
Shorts: ASOS  $32.27
Sweater: ASOS $71.72
Flats: American Eagle $19.95
Total: $123.94
I recently noticed that most of my Dress for Lesses are full of dark and rich colors and not many brights. So I decided to break that and do a bright wintery look!  I also tried to use more separates than usual since I always seem to use dresses. I was going to do colored tights, but that seemed a bit too crazy, so I kept the legs black... What do you think of this crazy, colorful concoction?
Top - ASOS $26.90
Skirt - ASOS $21.52
Heels - Forever 21 $22.80
Wallet - Forever 21 $7.80
Tights - ASOS $14.34
Necklace - Forever 21 $9.80
TOTAL: $103.16
When I was doing my usual search of ASOS while being bored I found this gorgeous dress and decided to do a Dress for Less with it!  Since this is an evening look, it is more expensive than the usual outfits I do in this feature (well...with the exception of that last one...ha ha)
Dress: ASOS $70.68
Jacket: ASOS $39.65
Necklace: ASOS $7.76
Ring: ASOS $7.76
Shoes: ASOS $25.86
TOTAL: $151.71

The moment I saw this Moschino Pre-Fall 2011 outfit it screamed Dress for Less, so of course I had to oblige!  This look is a variation of what I love doing, wearing a dress with a long cardigan over it, a mix of comfortable and dressy.  Sadly I had trouble finding cheap-ish matches that looked good, so this is an expensive Dress for Less...I was going to just drop it and not do one, but decided to still do it. So here we go:
Sweater: ASOS $68.96
Dress: ASOS $51.72
Bag: ASOS $43.10
Shoes: ASOS $68.96
TOTAL: $232.74

For this edition of Dress for Less I decided to draw inspiration from one of the Matthew Williamson Pre-Fall 2011 looks.  I just love the teal pants paired with the gorgeous yellow jacket!  I could NOT find teal pants for the longest time and then I remembered YesStyle and they had a lot of teal choices, these were the best. I had to resort to Forever 21 for the perfect color jacket, but I'm okay with that, ha ha.  It is also a little more expensive than usual because the pieces were so hard to find and I wanted to get it right.  The boot color is a bit off, but the shape is perfect.

Pants - YesStyle $27
Coat - Forever 21 $34.80
Boots - ASOS $51.72
Scarf - ROXY via Amazon $14.99
TOTAL: $128.51

I decided to do another expensive Dress for Less post, ha ha...talk about an oxymoron.  The last time I did one everyone seemed to enjoy it, so I thought I'd try it out again.  This has no price limit and is an outfit from my dream wardrobe. All I have to do to get it is to marry a millionaire or win the lottery ;)
Sweater - J. Crew $70
Skirt - Preen Line $415
Boots - Burberry $995
Watch - Michael Kors $250
Black Tights: ASOS $6.90
TOTAL:  $1736.90
P.S. I wanted to pair it with this T by Alexander Wang sweater and oddly enough they had styled it with that skirt...HOW WEIRD! So I felt weird using it because it would look like I cheated and used their styling ;)

Once again I did a cheaper version, about 83% cheaper, oh yeaaaaa ;) (still a lot though)
Sweater - ASOS - $25.86
Skirt - ASOS $51.72
Boots - Mea Shadow $165
Watch - ASOS $51.72
Black Tights: ASOS $6.90
TOTAL:  $301.20

When I was checking out the Express sale earlier this week I fell in LOVE with these ReRock Moto Jean Leggings, the embellishment on the knees is amazing. It took me since the 5th to finally order them last night, ha ha.  So bye bye $31.99 ;)  Express has such great products but they are WAY too expensive for me, I don't even look on their website very often, but when Katie posted about their sale I HAD to check it out ;)  I decided to make a Dress for Less outfit with them, I hope you enjoy it!
ReRock Moto Jean Leggings - Express $23.99
Turtleneck - ASOS $17.24
Necklace - ASOS $13.79
Wedges - Alloy $39.99
Total: $95.01
---

Samantha requested that I find a cheaper version of this Victoria's Secret beaded jacket.  She didn't give a price so I just did less than what this one costs.  As usual this was a hard one, haha...you girls sure know how to stump me with these dress for lesses.
