How are we halfway though the year/Summer already?! I made it through another month not spending money on clothes. I did get a new pair of sandals as part of a partnership with Aetrex, check out this post see what I wore it with on our camping trip earlier this month.

I don't really have much on my shopping list these days, apart from the teal Gucci Marmont bag I've wanted for quite a few years now. But It's probably going to wait a few more years before I finally get it. With work being a little slower than usual it's hard to justify spending around $1000 on a bag. I WILL get it eventually, though!

Just because there's nothing on my list of wants it doesn't mean I don't window shop. I still constantly check secondhand sites in case something amazing pops up, but so far I've resisted any temptation. Anyone else just shop for the fun of it and not really intend on buying anything?

Well, I finally did it. I used up the last of my gift cards from my Shopbop partnership. Still very sad that it had to end due to the pandemic, but maybe they'll bring me back soon (wishful thinking, ha ha.) You may recall from my May wardrobe update that I mentioned Ancient Greek Sandals' launched their 10th Anniversary Collection. I was torn between 2 pairs - and the high price - so I was debating if I could even justify purchasing a pair. Luckily for me, one of them, the Kore of Berlin sandal, popped up on Shopbop and I decided it was time to use the remainder of my gift cards (plus a tiny bit of blog advertising money) to get them! I also found a 15% off coupon to help a bit more.

The other pair I wanted, the Victory Of Samothrace Metallic Wing Sandals, sold out fairly quickly on the Ancient Greek Sandals site and everywhere else they were in stock. I haven't seen them anywhere else yet but still going to keep my eyes open. Those were fitting for me because the first pair of Ancient Greek Sandals I bought almost 10 years ago were their Ikaria winged sandals. These were actually $20 cheaper than the Kore of Berlin sandals I bought.

Can you believe it's almost JUNE?! May just flew by. But maybe that's because I was away at Disney the first part of the month. I didn't buy any new clothes this month - apart from some Disney tees, but I count those as souvenirs since I won't really wear them outside of Disney. I bought a 50th anniversary tee and 2 Star Wars day shirts (both in kids sizes so they were a lot cheaper than adult shirts, haha!) I also got 20% off everything with my Annual Pass.

I still am considering a new pair of Ancient Greek Sandals from their 10th anniversary collection but they are EXPENSIVE, more than I've paid for any of my other pairs. On the one hand I want to support them and celebrate 10 years (I've been a fan pretty much all of those 10 years) but I don't usually buy new pairs unless they're on sale now. I'm deciding between a crazier pair and one that I would wear more often. Of course, the crazy pair is $20 cheaper. GAH!

I kind of took a break from posting in May just because I wasn't sure if I wanted to do any Disney related posts this time and Christian was away for a week after our trip so we haven't had time for any normal outfit photos. Hopefully I'll be back to at least posting once a week soon! But would anyone like some Disney trip posts in the meantime or are you all tired of me posting it on Instagram all last month, haha! I've been testing out Reels to see how they perform and the results have been so odd. Some posts go crazy and others NOTHING. Makes no sense.

I bought some new sneakers for going on walks this Summer and for our Disney trip in September. We'll (hopefully) be doing the Wild Africa Trek safari at Animal Kingdom so I'll need some good sneakers for that. We were supposed to do it in May 2020 but Covid ruined that whole trip. Now we'll be doing it for our anniversary, assuming I can get us 2 spots when the 60 day window for booking opens up in July! But back to the shoes - I had a $30 off $49 coupon AND my yearly $10 reward so that brought them to $26, can't beat that!

Can't believe we're already 3 months in to 2022. This month was another light shopping month - no clothes purchased. There's nothing I really need at the moment since we haven't really been out much in the past 2 years. Many of my old clothes now feel extra new again because I haven't worn them in quite a while. It's nice to be able to "shop my closet" as the cool kids are saying, ha ha. But I've always shopped my closet in the past (many of my clothes are 10+ years old.) It is still nice to have the occasional new piece to sprinkle in, but not much has caught my eye these days.

Another light fashion spend month. But I did splurge on a new Kitchenaid mixer. I’ve been using my Mom’s old KitchenAid since we moved into our house in 2018. I love it, and it was great, but it's gray. I’ve always dreamed of having a super fun color, preferably purple, so I was on the hunt for the Boysenberry, Plumberry or Bordeaux. They were never in stock or $800+ on eBay. I finally gave up and ordered a pretty Blue Velvet from Bed Bath and Beyond because I had a 30% off coupon. Ordered on Feb 1 with a delivery of Feb 3-4 - SOLD! We got to Feb 11th and it still hadn’t shipped. It must have been fate because on the 10th KitchenAid announced their color of the year - BEETROOT! The purple I'd been searching for. So I bought it, even though I had to pay full price. To me it was worth the extra cost over 10+ years to have the color I really really want.

I've been wanting to get another sweater from mīere the label, a company founded by my friend Jamie, for a while. The brand is mainly children's clothes but she has a few matching pieces for women. She recently offered some samples/returns for lower than retail. I used that as an excuse to purchase. Since she's in Australia, I have to take the more expensive shipping fees into account. The lower price ($45AUD) + shipping made the sweater the sale price (non-samples were on sale for $70 from $115.) I originally had 3 items in my cart, but the shipping would have been $99AUD ($71USD) which basically doubled the cost of my order. I limited myself to one since I'm trying to behave with purchases. I've still got my eyes on this lounge set in charcoal.

Welcome to the first wardrobe update of 2022, wow that snuck up quick! No purchases so far this year but I did get a few gifted items from my longtime featured brand Aurate. I'm hopeful that I will be very thoughtful with my spending this year and only add items that I love. Even last year I fell victim to sales and buying things I will hardly wear.

I will most likely be doing a closet clean out soon to weed out those items and anything else I don't see myself wearing in the future. I'm sure it will be very hard because some items I don't wear have sentimental value. Those pieces may stay for a little longer until I can let go.

It's my last wardrobe update of 2021. This year seems to have flown by now that we're at the end but I know there were some months that seemed to drag on forever. Another weird year done, hopefully next year is better.

As expected, this year was very light on clothing purchases. Having nowhere to go really helps to curb my spending. I do miss having new things in my closet but since I'm not going many places aside from visiting family it doesn't make much sense.

I successfully made it through Black Friday/Cyber Monday/Sale weekend with no purchases making November a no spend month! I did buy a few non-clothing items but nothing too crazy. A L'or de Seraphine candle (sold out sadly) from Neiman Marcus when I was buying a Christmas surprise for the family and I finally splurged on an Always Pan during their $99 sale. It came just before Thanksgiving so I haven't used it yet, maybe tonight!

October is my birthday month and normally I allow myself a clothing splurge. I refrained this year since I've had a few slow work months and saving for vacations and retirement seemed to be more important. I did buy a couple of tops on my Disney trip but those are more like souvenirs since I won't wear them in my day to day life, ha ha. (A 50th anniversary sweatshirt tee and a Remy's Ratatouille Adventure annual passholder exclusive tee)

I also have another sponsored post for Aurate coming next week so I was able to get a couple rings. I always love working with them, they carry such classic pieces.

I finished this post on Monday, so if I've made clothing purchases at Disney they won't appear here until next month! My adventure continues through next week so make sure to follow me on Instagram for Magic Kingdom 50th Anniversary fun!

I was doing pretty well this year and not making too many purchases. But at the beginning of the month Old Navy had a big sale on their clearance items so I stocked up on some things for Christian and of course had to take a "quick look" for myself and ended up with a few things. But I only spent $23 and got 5 pieces! Unfortunately I don't think I'll be ordering from Old Navy online again. Had some issues and ended up with 2 of the exact same order so I had to go through the hassle of returning a whole order. UGH!

Can you believe it's already September tomorrow? CRAZY!  This month was another well behaved month thanks to June being a slow work month. I budget based on what I make 2 months ahead. So what I make in June I use in August. Everything has a job so it's easy for me to stay on target with my budgets.

However, I do have a sponsored post with Aurate coming up next month so I was able to choose some items. I bought my Mom some earrings and then one earring for myself (as well as a pair that I got for free with the order.) So far my Mom's piece is the only thing that has arrived, the two for me will arrive mid-September.

I also made a pre-vacation purchase for Disney using some blog money. I randomly saw a cute pair of vintage-style Disney shorts on Instagram and decided to do my own search and found these adorable Disneyland mickey embroidered pocket shorts. I ended up with 2 pairs because I originally bought a size 12 brand new with tags and they were too big so I had to size down to a used 10. Unfortunate the new ones didn't work, but at least I still got a pair! If you are interested in a pair I am normally a 2/4 or 26/27 in denim and bought the size 10.

This is also my first time having a car payment because I got my first car very cheap right out of college. Crazy stuff! Ha ha. Well, I did it. I got my Prada Cahier bag! Well....almost. Read the story here! Since the bag money came out of a savings account I've been adding to for a few years I'm not counting it in my main 2021 spending total, but I did add a line at the bottom of the post including it in my yearly spending.

I also finally got Teva sandals after spending a couple months mulling it over. I went with a crazy printed pair since they'll be more fun for beach trips, camping and rainy Disney days! I also bought a new bathing suit from Target for a beach trip (that ended up being canceled.)

This month I had the pleasure of preparing for another sponsored post with Aurate (see the post next week!) I opted for something over my gifted amount and paid the difference. Boy was it worth it! I chose this topaz ring to match a vintage necklace my grandmother gave me years ago that I wear quite frequently. The shape is different but it has the same 3 diamond pattern on the sides, how weird is that? Meant to be!

In other news - we're getting our second dose of the vaccine this morning! YAY! So excited to finally be able to go back into the grocery store (Trader Joe's, here I come!!) and get a haircut, ha ha.  Although I'm sure we'll still be taking advantage of all the curbside pickups other stores offer.

Well, I did it. I didn't buy clothes all month! I obviously still have no need for anything new as I've barely had a chance to wear all the new things I bought last year. Can't wait for this Summer when we'll be able to get out a liiiiittle bit more.

Connecticut is opening up vaccine availability to all those over 16 tomorrow so Christian and I will be trying to get our appointments ASAP. Once we do, the first thing on the agenda (besides still wearing masks in public/around non-vaccinated folk) is haircuts! Christian hasn't gotten a cut since September 2020 and he is getting so annoyed with his long hair, ha ha. It's been since August 2019 for me, I got a cut right before our honeymoon. Normally get my haircut once a year because I'm lazy; I let it grow long and then chop it off and the cycle continues.

Then we'll plan to visit Christian's Mom. We haven't seen her since January 2019 - UGH!!! Not sure if we'll drive or brave a flight...but it's an 18 hour drive, yikes! Other than that we'll probably still keep to ourselves at home with occasional visits to Grandma's and my parents. Although I will probably venture in to Home Goods and Trader Joe's because I haven't been since last March....SHEESH! We do have a camping trip planned that we re-booked from last year, so hopefully that can go ahead as scheduled!
