You know those pieces that you buy and want to wear all the time? This sweater is one of them! It's so comfortable, since it's cashmere, and it's nice and thin so I can even wear it on warmer days. And isn't the back perfect?! If I get too hot in it I can just undo a few of the bottom buttons to get a nice breeze. I've worn it with jeans at least 4 times since buying the sweater last month. Not at all ashamed. But for this particular outing I decided to dress it up. My mom didn't like the combo because she thinks the stripes are too casual and the lace is too dressy. Oh well, kids will be kids, right?

P.S. How is it already JUNE?!

Sweater: Club Monaco (Clinton Crossing Premium Outlet), Skirt: made by Mom, Sandals: Manolo Blahnik 'Catalina' (Roundabout Resale), Sunglasses: Chanel

I've been "needing" a nice brown basic sweater for quite some time so when I found this August Silk sweater while out birthday shopping with my Mom it was perfect! It's a bit of a looser fit so for it's first outing I wore it with my lace skirt, since the weather is a little warmer.  I can't wait to wear it with skinny jeans and heels/booties!

Sweater: August Silk (Marshalls), Skirt: Made by Mom, Loafers c/o Joie, Sunglasses: Cole Haan c/o Marshalls, Necklace: House of Harlow (South Moon Under), Bag: Marc by Marc Jacobs (Net-a-Porter)

When I saw the Burberry Prorsum Pre-Fall 2014 collection I knew I would be able to recreate a couple of the looks with a top Oasis sent me last year. The collection had some outfits featuring skyline shirts of London (some of which are available on NET-A-PORTER right now!).  I did the first look when I went to New York a couple weeks ago, seen here, and today I'm sharing the second look!

Top c/o Oasis, Leather Jacket: Theyskens' Theory (Nordstrom Rack), Skirt: made by Mom, Sandals: Simply Vera (Kohl's), Watch: Skagen (Rue La La), Rings: vintage, Brilliant Imports & Mom's

Here are both looks side by side with the inspiration. What do you think?

The rain has finally subsided: HUZZAH! Except now I bet I jinxed it, oh well...  Anyway today I thought I would look back at some pieces I've worn in a myriad of ways.  This is the third installment of this feature: Part 1 & Part 2

Ralph Lauren Striped Sweater - I wear this sweater quite often, but it is not something that gets photographed a lot.  Not sure why because it's one of my favorite things.  It's usually a weekend piece and what I throw on when I have no idea what to wear. I bought it at good will for $8 and it's too big so it has a nice slouchy feel.

Purple Printed Skirt - My mom made this skirt for me 2 years ago with fabric we bought at Mood after my photoshoot with The Outnet.  I wear it a lot but it is one of those pieces that I always wear with the same things because they go so perfectly together.

McQ Alexander McQueen Dress - Another oldie, but goodie.  My mom bought me this from Century 21 for my birthday 2 years ago.  It is from the last collection McQueen did so it has a special place in my wardrobe. I've only shown Summery stylings here, but I wear it through the Winter too.

A nice short week this week! Yesterday was the 4th of July, obviously and today is another day off! Long weekends are the best, aren't they?! (I feel like I just said that a few weeks ago, ha ha.)  This week was another nice non-stressful week at work. We were able to just work on projects without rushing. That is always much better than when we have 5 things due the same day!

I have been doing a bit too much shopping lately. I blame the sales... I was still under budget but I need to be a good girl.  So I'm going to try to not buy anything until my vacation, which is in 2 weeks! WOO! I'll be spending the week at a beach house in Rhode Island with my immediate family as well as some aunts and uncles.

What a heat wave we've been having!  Even in these barely there outfits I was super hot walking to and from the train this week.  Other than that everything was good.  A nice, non-stressful week. I definitely need those every once in a while.  Last night was my company's 5 year anniversary so there was a big party. It was supposed to go until 2, but I obviously couldn't stay that long because I had to take a train home.  I am probably still sleeping as this goes live, thank goodness for working from home on Fridays. I can get up at 9 and just start working.

I hope everyone had a wonderful week, I'm enjoying the fact that it is sunny when I'm going to work at 6:30 am and coming home at 6:30pm. Love Spring!  The only bad thing is the frequent rain storms that we see during Springtime, but they bring the flowers so it's okay by me.  This is going to be another busy weekend and I promise I'll tell you why next week, I just like the suspense, ha ha.  Even though it's not very exciting.

Looks like I was in a dress/skirts mood this week...with the exception of Thursday.  I really wish I wore them more often but it's just so awkward wearing them on the train.  I should just suck it up more, we'll see how that goes.

Also, make sure you enter the Epiphany Chocolates giveaway! Who doesn't want chocolate?!

Only three outfits this week because I worked from home yesterday. In the morning I headed back to my parents house until after Christmas! Yay for home cooking, so much better than just reheating Trader Joes chicken (which I LOVE) and eating chips instead of a real side dish.

My cousins arrived from Ohio and will be staying until Sunday morning. Then Sunday I'm going to see The Hobbit again with my brother, sister and her boyfriend! WAHOOO!

We also have our family Christmas movie traditions: It's a Wonderful Life yesterday, Holiday Inn today, White Christmas on the 22nd and Scrooge (with Albert Finney) on the 23rd!

Finally, we have Christmas Eve and Christmas, the best days!  I love seeing all my family over the course of a few days.  A lot of us only see each other every few months. (but we usually go to my Grandma's every Sunday so some of my cousins are there)

What are your holiday (or non-holiday) plans?!

Monday: Jeans: Rag & Bone (Shopbop), Tee: H&M $9, Sweater: Hollister $15 (really old),  Rain Boots: däv giveaway win, Watch: Michael Kors

Tuesday: Sweater: Inis Crafts (Marshalls), Skirt: Made by Mom, Boots: vintage (eBay) $17, Watch: Michael Kors
Wednesday: Sweater: Madewell (Shopbop) gift card, Pants: Glo super old, Flats: vanEli (DSW) gift, Necklace: ShopNBC giveaway, Bracelets c/o 31 Bits, Watch: Michael Kors
So many outfit posts this week, you guys are getting spoiled! I wish Lydia could always take my pictures for me, it's more fun (see last photo) and far easier than using my tripod, ha ha. Not to mention, the photos come out 10x better.

This outfit made me feel like Marjorie Reynolds as Linda Mason in Holiday Inn (one of my favorite Christmas movies!) I have no idea why because it looks nothing like her outfits in the movie. I think it's mostly because of my boots and tights, because those are quite similar to ones she wears in a scene at the beginning of the film. Although she does wear skirts/dresses at a similar length and a big coat...

Song of the Day - White Christmas by Bing Crosby

Sweater: Inis Crafts (Marshalls), Skirt: Made by Mom, Boots: vintage (eBay) $17, Bag: Marc by Marc Jacobs (net-a-porter) gift card, Sunglasses: Ray-Ban 'Emma' (TJ Maxx) gift card

Here is my Thanksgiving outfit, I figured it was a good occasion to wear my inspired by Michael Kors look! It has a very Fall/Holiday feeling, don't you think?  The photos were taken at my Grandmother's house, well...actually her neighbors bridge because no one is there right now and it's pretty.

Sweater: Inis Crafts (Marshalls) $30 gift, Skirt: Made by Mom $50 for fabric, Booties: No.704b  (DSW) $25, Watch: Michael Kors, Bag: Marc by Marc Jacobs (Shopbop), Sunglasses: Ray Ban 'Emma' (TJ Maxx) gift card
