We've had some pretty hot days so far this Summer so I've been trying to keep breezy and cool but still look cute when I actually have somewhere to go. I wore this to a family gathering at my brother's where it started off nice and warm and then we had to move in during a little rain storm. Rather than just wear a sundress I decided to layer with my favorite knit sweater tank, made by my Grandma for my Mom years ago. It's been in my possession since 2012 so it's already had a full second life with me, ha ha!
Unfortunately I can't find this exact dress because it was a random no-name company from Marshalls in Missouri and I took the tag off without writing it down, ha ha! I even went through my phone history because I looked to see what else the brand had but it was just an old lookbook and nothing for sale currently. But I could not find it. I did find some similar designs and prints to help recreate the outfit.

For our second Thanksgiving I was able to dress up a little bit more since we'd be at my Aunt's house with no dogs to jump on me, ha ha. I had wanted to wear this outfit back in October for my birthday trip to Woodstock but figured it would be impractical for walking around and saved it for Thanksgiving!
For holidays - or any day really - I always love to break out my Aurate jewelry! They've got everything from beautiful gold rings and gemstone jewelry to diamonds! For this look I stacked a couple of my station necklaces and wore my pearl studs. If you're still on the hunt for the perfect gift for a loved one I highly suggest checking on their offerings! There's something for every budget and I am always complimented on my pieces. I grabbed my sister a cute pair of pearl drop earrings!
This is my first time wearing these booties since I got them fixed at the cobbler! When I bought them over 10 years ago they had some wrinkles in the insole so I got them "cheap" and thought I could get past the annoyance. But I found the more I wore them the wrinkles were too big to ignore. So they sat mostly unworn until I finally brought them to the cobbler this year! They aren't perfectly smooth now, but much better than before! Excited to wear them more often again!
Also broke out my vintage leather skirt. I found a very similar skirt that you can buy, it might actually be exact. When I bought this skirt in 2013 (for $10 at Coco's on the Green!) it was actually midi length but I had my Mom shorten it because it overwhelmed me. The skirt I found looks much l like my original and could be shortened to get the same effect!
I expected it to be a little chilly on our drive home so I grabbed my Burberry coat too! This and my Prada bag are two of Christian's favorite pieces I own. He likes to say he talked me into buying them, ha ha. I almost didn't buy the coat because I didn't need one, but I did really want it. So the fact that he really liked it pushed me to splurge. So he did make me feel less bad about my decisions ;)

On day two of our Salem trip we started bright and early again, arriving at our same parking place on Essex street at 8am. We did all the paid things on day two after deciding what we wanted to do on Saturday. We also repeated a lot of spots since I wanted some non-rainy shots too. We left to drive home a little after 1pm so it was a short day. Before we get to the schedule of the day here comes the outfit photos.
We took a stroll along the water and by the Salem Maritime National Historic Site. After about 45 minutes there we headed back to Town Hall, the Bewitched Statue and Allison's house on the way to walk some of the historic streets like Chestnut, Cambridge and Pickering. We made sure to walk by The Pickering House, one of the oldest home in Salem.
After our morning walk we headed back toward the water for our tour of The House of the Seven Gables at 10:30am. I haven’t read the book (whoops) but learning the history of the house and how it inspired Nathaniel Hawthorne was very interesting. After the tour we also walked through the house where Hawthorne was born.
Our next historical activity was walking through The Witch House, which is down the street from the Ropes Mansion. For this tour you have to buy your tickets at 8am. We were on right at 8am and ended up with tickets at 11:45. It was cutting it pretty close to our first tour of the day but we knew we'd be able to make it.
After all that history we headed to the Salem Common to have lunch at the food truck festival! We shared some birria tacos, Christian got a Mac Melt and we both had whoopie pies.
Before heading home we went back to Forest River Park so we could visit Salem in 1630: Pioneer Village. At only $5 it was a steal. It is a small village but there's a lot to explore within the houses. This is where they filmed the first scenes in Hocus Pocus where Thackery Binx lived.
Earlier this month Christian and I spent a day at the beach (and have the sunburn to prove it, whoops!) After a quick outfit change we decided to try a new place for dinner - Chophouse Grill in Westerly, Rhode Island. Our meal was so delicious and the waitstaff super attentive. We'll definitely be back! Even though we were stuffed, we also grabbed some ice cream at Brickley's! The weather was so beautiful and was a great temperature for walking around Westerly.

And here's a look at my beach outfit, a leopard print bathing suit and Farm Rio dress! This dress is too revealing for me to wear "normally" so I use it as a beach coverup instead! I wore it out once and the photos came out great, I just feel overly exposed in it, ha ha.
