My friend Mary, whom I had the pleasure of meeting last September at LuckyFABB, tagged me in a Five Things post. So I have to share 5 facts (interesting or not) about myself.  It was hard coming up with a list, but here we go!
One: I did gymnastics for 13 years and miss it every day. When I started, at the ripe old age of 5, I HATED it and cried when my mom made me go. But as I got older I grew to love it. I competed until I graduated high school. Fun fact: I hold the school record for a front handspring vault: 8.55 out of 8.6...however the judge told me I should have gotten an 8.6, but she couldn't give it to me. HOW ANNOYING! So basically, I got a perfect 10.
Two: I am obsessed with movies (evidence.) What's weirder is that I can quote my favorite movies WITH sound effects AND soundtrack while watching (or not watching.) If I turn on a movie I've seen a few times (or Gilmore Girls) I can say the next line right away. My brothers, sister & I (along with some cousins) constantly quote parts of movies, our favorites being Willy Wonka and The Princess Bride.  I even use movie quotes in regular conversations & anyone who can tell what movie they're from gets brownie points. I quote way too often, ask anyone. I even did it on the blog once.
Texting Indiana Jones quotes with my cousin
Three: I am a super picky eater.  Example: I hate cheese, it's gross. I eat junk: chips, chocolate, bread, anything they tell you not to eat on a diet. Needless to say I have never, and will never go on one. I do love random things like shrimp scampi and rice & beans. Rice & beans is Jamaican, which is another fact: I have a teeny bit of Jamaican in my family history, and am half French Canadian.
Example: The stuff on the left is inedible. Ew. (this photo was taken in London last March)
Four: If I were a character from The Big Bang Theory I'd be a mix of Sheldon, Raj, Penny & Leonard. Raj: I can't talk to boys, though it isn't as bad as selective mute-ism. Sheldon: I am awkward in social settings, but not to his extent. Leonard: I am pretty normal, but still geeky. I'm obsessed with Harry Potter (my fan site) for goodness sake!  And obviously Penny because I'm a girl and dress cute. Fortunately, I'm not gross like Howard, ha ha.
Weee!
Five: When I was younger I wanted to go to school for film making. I was given a camera for my 14th birthday and made rather embarrassing movies with my family.  Here's a peek at one of them, in which I played an alien from Uranus (I had a balloon for a behind,) and the head of a superhero group.  Clever, right? (and how 'bout that old computer!)
My brother and I "acting"; we're super heros
Now I tag: Lydia, Christine, Jamie-Lee, Courtney and Jessica. Have fun if you choose to participate!

And as a bonus, here are some blooper shots from various blogger meetups, all photos by Lydia. :) As you can see, I don't take myself seriously at all. I'm a psycho. (that's a movie quote...anyone know what from?!)
FIN.

Before I get to today's awesome post I wanted to wish my blog a Happy Birthday! It turns TWO today! I know, it's not as old as many other blogs out there, but it's still a birthday. I kind of want to get it a gift...like these Miu Miu or Valentino heels, or maybe this Burberry dress...but those are a bit extravagant for a blog, don't you think; how will he wear them!?

Who doesn't love Lanvin?! I'm pretty sure most of us do, but sadly most of us cannot afford any of the pieces. Thankfully, The Outnet just added a bunch of Lanvin items to their store yesterday!  You can shop luxe cocktail dresses, sumptuous skirts, statement jewelry and heart-stopping heels at unbelievable prices.

They are still quite pricey but they are up to 70% off of retail prices. I have highlighted a few pieces and their prices below! My favorite items are the gold skirt and floral dress...so beautiful!
Metallic tweed pleated skirt
was $1990, now $796
Floral-print cotton and silk-blend dress

Frame-wedge metallic-leather sandals

Asymmetric silk-satin dress

Silk-satin off-the-shoulder dress

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!!!!

This was an AMAZING year for me and I'm glad I was able to share it with all of you, and that you were actually interested in my adventures, comments on randomness, and outfits! You have no idea what it means to me that you keep coming back to my blog.

I am not one to make New Years Resolutions since I can never keep them, but I always try to not be so scared of life.  You wouldn't know it from reading my blog but I am a VERY shy person, I don't do much outside of work and the occasional Harry Potter event.  I just feel awkward around other people so I prefer to stay home (like tonight...I was watching tv alone to ring in the New Year) So I am going to TRY to be more outgoing.

I already posted this list in October for my birthday, but some of you guys are new so you may enjoy it (I added a bit to it too). My favorite moments of 2011! Some are superficial but whatever, we can be materialistic sometimes ;)
(all the links lead to posts, except for net-a-porter)
Here's hoping for an even more amazing 2012, for all of us!
In addition to posting my favorite outfits I though I would post some of my favorite photos of 2011. All of these photos were featured on the blog at some point, so here we go. The following are from outfit posts.

Well...today is the first blogiversary of Closet Fashionista, YAY!!! I can't believe how much the blog has grown since it's beginnings.  When I first started I didn't even show photos of myself, but I'm glad I finally did.

I want to thank all of you girls (and guys) who visit my blog, it wouldn't be what it is today without you guys!  I am still so amazed that people are actually interested in what I write.

Blogging has been such a fun addition to my life so I'm really happy that I decided to bite the bullet and start this blog because I enjoy it so much.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO THE BLOG!!!! :D
P.S. it also happens to be my half birthday! Yayy for being 22 1/2 ;)
Look up *points to address bar*, you can now access the blog through www.closet-fashionista.com! YAYY! I've been wanting to get a domain for months and finally broke down and did it :p (aclosetfashionista.blogspot.com will just forward to this now).  I also bought some business cards (500 for $12) I only got single sided though because double sided would have been $24 and I'm cheap ;) Maybe if these come out good I'll splurge and get double sided next.  I used OvernightPrints and the code '9WANR6FL' to get 500 free single sided cards and only had to pay for shipping. I'll let you know how they come out when I get them!

And an update on Chanel Riva:  It chipped a little bit on Monday night on my thumb (but that always happens) but after that it was fine and that was the only chipping there was.  So it has lasted as long as my usual nail polishes.
