This is what I wore over the weekend weekend when I was snowed in after winter storm Jonas.  I spent the weekend at my parents because I had no food left in my house.  The reason for having no groceries? I'm heading to Florida on Wednesday for Universal's third annual Celebration of Harry Potter. So be on the lookout for geeky Instagrams!

Sweater: from Lydia, Jeans: Current/Elliott (The Outnet), Boots: Grandma's, Coat: Sisters (TJ Maxx), Sunglasses: Ray Ban 'Erika' (Ditto)

A couple weekends ago Lydia and I planned on going outlet shopping. We woke up in the morning and it was pouring down rain. Did that stop us? NO! So we trekked the 45 minutes to the Tanger Outlets in Westbrook to spend the $100 gift cards we won on Instagram.  Unfortunately I didn't find much so I still have $40 left on my gift card.

I bought a colorblock sweater from J.Crew, picked up some snacks from Pepperidge Farm and got a gift for my cousin's baby shower. So a somewhat successful trip but I was hoping to find more fun pieces. There's always next time!

While there was a break in the rain we took some quick outfit pictures. So here's my super cozy, boring-without-the-scarf rainy day outfit.  This scarf was one of my buys from returning two sweaters from Christmas that didn't fit.

Sweater: Everlane,  Jeans: J Brand 811 Photo Ready Mid-Rise Skinny (Gilt), Scarf: Madewell, Boots: dav, Necklace: Madewell

Sadly this is not a full throwback outfit! I had to replace the blazer with a new sweater. I gave the blazer to a friend because I hardly ever wore it and had the exact same one in gray that I liked more. I also don't have the shoes anymore (that's what Forever 21 and Miu Miu knock offs will get you.)

Sweater: Banana Republic c/o Westfield Trumbull, Top: Michael Kors, Jeans: Free People (Marshalls), Boots: Chloe (Roundabout Resale), Watch: Michael Kors, Purse: Marc by Marc Jacobs (Shopbop)

Original: Blazer: Necessary Objects via RueLaLa, Heels: Forever 21
This sweater is one of my favorite examples of shopping the boys section. When Target did their big Neiman Marcus collaboration I really wanted this rag & bone sweater, but it was only in the boys and mens departments. Luckily I was able to snap one up in a boys medium. Plus, it's fun to say I fit in little boy clothes. Brings back memories of Elisabeth Hasslebeck on The Look for Less. That was always one of her tips, check the boys department!

Cardigan: rag & bone x Target & Neiman Marcus, Tee: Everlane, Jeans: FRAME 'Le Skinny de Jeanne Jeans' (Shopbop), Boots: Eighteen 68 'Megan' (Gilt), Necklace: bought in Santorini

Post titles are getting harder and harder . I was going for a play on green with envy but it doesn't really work. Here's a cozy outfit I wore to watch Star Wars with my family. We watched Episodes 5 and 6 with a dinner break in between.  Exciting, right? This sweater is one of my favorites, especially since it's cashmere. It makes at least 3 appearances a year on the blog, though I wear it more often than that.

Sweater:  T.Babaton c/o Aritzia, Jeans: J Brand 'high rise Maria' (Gilt), Over-the-Knee Boots: Audrey Brooke (DSW)

Here's another thrifting find from last month! I got this jacket for only $18, total score! I also got these loafers on the same trip for a mere $4. How amazing is it that they match the bag I thrifted for $2 a few years ago by the same designer?! I do love finding amazing deals! This may be the softest jacket I own, apart from my faux fur leopard coat.

Coat: Love Life & Freedom (Consignment Originals), Sweater: Marc by Marc Jacobs 'Pyo' (Saks Off Fifth),  Jeans: J Brand 811 Photo Ready Mid-Rise Skinny (Gilt), Loafers: Etienne Aigner (Consignment Originals), Bag: Etienne Aigner

Another Thursday, another throwback outfit. All these pieces are the same, except I forgot to take photos with the handbag. I'm so used to omitting my bags in my outfits these days that I forgot to grab it before going outside!  The reason I don't usually post my handbags is because I go through phases and use the same one for weeks at a time. Not very exciting for posts (as I'm sure you noticed when I kept sharing my new Emm Kuo bag!)

Top c/o OASAP, Sweater: Ralph Lauren (Lord & Taylor), Jeans: Free People (Gilt Groupe) gift card, Flats: Chaps (Kohl's), Bag: Marc by Marc Jacobs

The Original:

My original intent with this outfit was to layer up to keep myself extra warm and remove the need for a jacket while outside. After putting it on I decided to experiment and ended up inventing a new sleeve! Exciting, right? Apparently I'm easily impressed because I'm sure many other people have rolled up their sleeves to show off their lower layer, but this was my first attempt. A little strange, but I like it.

Turtleneck: Vanessa Bruno (Coco's $10 sale), Sweater: Madewell (Shopbop), Jeans: Genetic c/o Piperlime, Flats: Chanel (eBay), Bag: Emm Kuo 'Westbourne Satchel' (Roundabout Resale)

The first time wearing new pieces is always so fun. You feel all shiny and fresh looking at yourself. This was the debut of both this sweater and necklace from Christmas. They go quite well together, don't you think? I'm still getting used to curling my hair, but my curling wand (reviewed here) is definitely a lot easier than ones I tried in the past. My hair looked better the day after this because the curls were a little looser.

Sweater: Madewell, Jeans: FRAME 'Le Skinny de Jeanne Jeans' (Shopbop), Leopard Pumps: Jimmy Choo (Roundabout Resale), Necklace: Madewell
