{home} A -Tiny- Room of One's Own

Whenever someone comes to my house they ask to see my room. Why all the curiosity? That would be because my room is approximately 9ft by 8ft. When I moved in with my cousins almost 2 years ago I went from having a small bedroom and a whole room for a closet when I lived in a small beach house with my friend.  Fitting in all my clothes and furniture was no small feat. I ended up having to put my blazers in our hallway closet for one.

But you know what, I LOVE my tiny room. It's so cozy. And after getting a lofted bed last year I am able to fit most of my stuff quite nicely with help from my shoe bookshelf, a few dressers and a shelving unit. I think after a few more adjustments the room will be perfect. A couple fun throw pillows, like these found at Parachute, would be a welcome addition for my bedding. Perhaps with a beautiful cashmere throw for those cold Winter nights.

Now that I've waxed on about my room and all the storage, here are some photos to show it off!  How does it look?

  3. Everything is so very organised. Tell me the truth… is it always like this or just for the pictures ? ;)
Its a funny world, I have a spare room that I can turn into a huge closet but I refuse to because I think that the more space I have, the clutter will just creep on me. So i try to work with what I have and just make it all fit.

    1. Haha, my room is usually like that! Since its so small I HAVE to keep it tidy or its insanity. But sometimes there is a little bit more on the counters. ;)

  5. I think it can be a good thing to have a tiny room as well; you won't make a mess that soon! And it's looking really really cozy indeed :)

  8. I love how organised your space is! Even if it is small, it manages to fit everything you need and looks good too! :)

I think that having less space to store things is often what makes me more organised...I've been wearing a lot more of my wardrobe now that it's all crammed into the master bedroom, rather than having an entire room as my wardrobe (that room is the nursery now!). While I have less space, I've tried to be smart about it so I can really see everything at once. Would be even easier if I owned less though, haha!

  11. So cozy and small, yet so super organized with so much stuff. I think you did a great job. My favorite part is the wall next to the bed ;P!
