Here's an outfit that I wore almost exactly 7 years ago. Crazy how time flies! This was one of my first designer buys from back in the day. Not the first, but first 5. I wore the heck out of it when I first got it but sadly it sits in my closet unworn now. I guess that's what happens to loved pieces, we love them a bit too much and then they need to sit on the bench for a while.

Dress: Marc Jacobs 'Cynthia' (eBay), Shoes: Nicholas Kirkwood suede Prism pumps (NET-A-PORTER, also here and here)

The Original: Wedges: R2 (DSW)

And we're back to throwback outfits after a couple weeks off! Here's another full recreation with the exact same items! This is such a comfortable outfit, especially considering I'm wearing a dress. But it's not just any dress, it's a sweater dress! The best kind of dress.

Dress: Vintage via Twitch Vintage, Sweater:  DKNY cozy (Marshalls), Wedges: R2 (DSW)

The original:

This cardigan is so warm and cozy. I have been throwing it on over my pjs at night to keep me extra toasty so I figured I should wear it in an outfit too! I believe I only paid $4 for it, score!  It wasn't super cold this day so I was okay in this layered look - tank top, sweater and cardigan. I like mixing over-sized sweaters with tighter fitting under-layers, that way I don't look like a snowball, ha ha. Although, sometimes I feel like looking fat and fluffy, so I just wear this.

Sweater: Vanessa Bruno (Roundabout Resale), Caridgan: Lauren by Ralph Lauren (Goodwill),  Jeans: J Brand c/o Marshalls, Boots: R2 (DSW), Necklace: House of Harlow (South Moon Under)

I was finally able to wear the Witchery sweater I bought from Jamie-Lee back in July! It's so perfectly over-sized and comfy! Wearing it with these jeans probably wasn't the best idea for proportions, but I was in a 70s pants mood. Next time I'll wear it with super skinny jeans or a fun skirt! So many outfit ideas swimming around in my head.  And yes, I was a geek and did a play on The Eagle's Witchy Woman for the title, told you they were one my favorite bands!

Sweater: Witchery (Jamie-Lee's Blog Shop), Jeans: Free People (Marshalls), Wedges: R2 (DSW), Bag: Wink and Winn (giveaway), Necklace: House of Harlow c/o South Moon Under, Watch c/o Movado

Here is one of my typical weekend looks (minus the wedges): sweater, jeans, ponytail and no makeup. I don't generally wear much makeup every day, but on the weekends I'm usually far too lazy to take the 5 minutes to put on blush, eyeshadow, mascara and lipstick. It's good for you to give your skin a break from time to time anyway.

I wore this on Sunday where we had a little bit of rain, but not as much as Saturday.  There was still a chill in the air so I doubled up on my sweaters. I was in such a lazy mood that I even forgot to put on my rings and watch! *gasp*

I hope everyone had a lovely week. Mine was quite busy and today will be busy as well. But at least I get to work from the comfort of my couch today. In the world of clothes - I have still successfully avoided wearing an actual winter coat, it's still warm enough when I leave work to not need one. Although I did wear my new rain coat from Marshalls this week (once, haha.) I did layer sweaters on top of each outfit though, I'm not trying to get sick! I also wore a couple new-to-me pieces that I snagged while helping Lydia clean her closet. Both are purple, obviously, ha ha.  I was also a bad girl and wore leggings as pants, but my sweater was long enough to cover my rear, so I think it's okay.  I wasn't feeling good that day and didn't want to wear real clothes.

No, it's not Friday yet, but I'm doing This Week in Fashion a day early this week. You'll see why tomorrow (or some of you may already know.) It was back to the office for me after a week and a half working at home. While I enjoyed being back, I did miss my sleep, I had gotten used to getting up hours late last week. Depressing.

Last night I went to a fun event hosted by Marshalls in NYC, I'll post more about it next week. Today I'm going out to lunch with some old friends, should be a nice change to get out of the office during lunch. I usually just eat my sandwich at my desk because I'm too cheap to buy lunch every day.

Happy Friday!! Who is ready for a long weekend? (well, those of you in the US)  Labor day is upon us which means we're at the unofficial end of Summer.  But never fear, we still have a few weeks until it is officially Fall, still plenty of time to wear all our Summer favorites!

This week was pretty eventful.  Monday and Tuesday were CRAZY at work but both of those days I got some pretty fun news!  On Monday I found out I'm one of the final 25 members of Marshalls Project FAB!  They narrowed down from hundreds (I assume,) to 50 who did posts (see all mine) and then whittled that down to 25. I'm so excited to partner with them over the next year because Marshalls has been one of my favorite stores for as long as I can remember.  The other thing was something more private related to a person I run a fan site for.  Many of you can probably guess, but I'm not going to say who or what. ;)

Monday: Tee: Everlane, Pants: Maison Scotch c/o Aritzia, Sandals: Seychelles (DSW), Watch: Skagen (Rue La La), Rings: vintage & Mom's

Tuesday: Limited Edition Hogwarts Crest Tee (very old), Skirt: Mother Denim c/o Marshalls, Heels: Simply Vera by Vera Wang (Kohl's), Watch: Skagen (Rue La La), Rings: vintage & Mom's

Wednesday: Tee: Everlane, Skirt: Vince Camuto  (Lord & Taylor), Heels: Guess (Marshalls), Necklaces: Vanessa Mooney and Geoclassics, Watch: Skagen (Rue La La), Rings: vintage & Mom's

Thursday: Dress: Jason Wu for Target, Heels: Marc by Marc Jacobs (Net-a-Porter gift card), Watch: Skagen (Rue La La), Rings: vintage & Mom's
Lately I have been trying to wear pieces in my wardrobe that haven't seen much of the outside world (either because they are too dressy or I don't have much to go with them). This week it's my Burberry London dress from this Summer. I've only worn it twice (to a Wedding and a Christening) so I decided to style it down for work!  It is very thin so I paired it with tights, booties and my super warm Burberry Brit sweater (previously seen here).  Sometimes I wish I wasn't so much of a shopaholic because I already have plenty of amazing pieces in my closet to wear. But shopping is my social activity, otherwise I'd barely leave my house, so it's okay...right? ;)

Even though I love shopping, I'm going to try to cut down substantially for the next few months and, hopefully, buy nothing new (except accessories if I find good ones.)  I always try to be smart with my purchases but still end up purchasing far more than I need. Ex: I have 17 blazers...and hardly any tops (I'm not a fan of tops, I prefer sweaters)

Song of the Day: Double Trouble by John Williams (Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban Soundtrack)

Dress: Burberry London (Net-a-Porter Sale), Sweater: Burberry Brit (Net-a-Porter Sale), Wedges: r2 (DSW), Watch: Michael Kors (Lord & Taylor), Sunglasses: Ray Ban 'Emma' (Marshalls)

I am in LOVE with my new Burberry Brit sweater. It is so comfortable and warm! If I wore long sleeves under it I could probably go coat-less! It is just a teeny bit big (I bought the last one and they didn't have my size, haha), but I like things over-sized and this way I can layer more.

I'm so glad I splurged on this in the NAP sales. Sometimes I'm too stingy with my money and don't buy things even if I really love them, then can't stop thinking about them. Another problem I have is buying a few things that are super on sale instead of buying one thing I really love (not that I don't enjoy what I buy, but I would probably like the one thing far more.) Am I the only person with that problem?

Song of the Day: Romeo & Juliet by Dire Straits
(I was going to pick a song that went better with the outfit, like Baby's In Black by The Beatles, but I've wanted to use this song for a post title for a while because it's one of my favorites...especially the live version)

Sweater: Burberry Brit (Net-a-Porter Sale), Jeans: Free People (Gilt Groupe), Wedges: R2 (DSW), Watch: Michael Kors (Lord & Taylor), Sunglasses: Marc by Marc Jacobs (Shopbop), Bag: Marc by Marc Jacobs (Shopbop)
