This light teal cashmere sweater is one of my favorites for cooler temperatures. The color matches pretty much everything in my closet so it's easy to layer with blazers or larger cardigans. I decided to wear it with a statement jean for this weekend outing and finished off the look with my new flats! Normally I have a hard time being comfortable in flats because my heels get blisters, but thanks to the slingback my heels have plenty of room to move around and won't rub up on the back of the shoe.

These photos are obviously from before Halloween as I'm at the pumpkin patch, but I feel like pumpkins and gourds are still great decor all the way up through Thanksgiving. I still have all 12 (they were 12 for $20, haha) gourds we bought on this trip and my pumpkin since we didn't have time to carve it.
While I'm all for decorating for Christmas as early as you want I still like to keep it more Fall themed until closer to Thanksgiving (I usually start decorating Thanksgiving night, haha.) This year I'm decorating before - probably this week - since we only have three and a half weeks after Thanksgiving to get all our Christmas cheer out!
On to the outfit, I was originally going to go sans vest, but in the end I knew it would be a bit cold at the pumpkin patch so I threw on one of my faux fur vests to keep the chill off.

As I mentioned on Tuesday, I had two weddings to attend last month. This is what I wore to the second for a friend I've had since elementary school. She was friends with my sister and I was friends with her sister so we kind of became a foursome. Her wedding was the weekend after my cousins and we had warmer weather and no wind, which was lovely!
It was held at the Keller Tavern Museum Garden House, a beautiful location especially in Fall! For this wedding I went with a more Fall color palette by wearing my brown Edun dress and Prada sandals. This dress, like my Burberry one, has been in my closet since early 2012. I first wore it to the Grand Opening of the Harry Potter Studio Tour in London. I'm also pretty sure I found the exact necklace I bought in Santorini online - shop it here!
I got a compliment on the dress from a very stylish wedding guest who was in a voluminous black top and pants with what I'm assuming were Chanel pumps because they looked a bit like this but with camellias or logos on the mesh (she also had a Chanel bag.) I enjoy how even if a piece is technically "past season" it doesn't matter as long as it makes a statement. There's no need to buy a new dress for every special occasion as long as you have a few standout pieces to rotate through. I have another wedding in January and am still deciding which of the dresses I already own I will wear. (But who knows, I may break my own rule and buy something new.)
And now I'm taking a week off of posting as I'll be at Disney World from Monday to Friday! I'll be back the next week with more outfits and a couple Disney posts! Follow my trip on Instagram!

And a bonus shot of Christian and I at the wedding:

This Autumn Cashmere sweater is still a closet favorite. I wore it three times within two weeks and had to stop myself from wearing it to the pumpkin patch so I could get outfit pictures of something different. People think printed sweaters are hard to wear but I find them much easier because you can wear them with almost anything. This sweater has so many colors that it goes with many pieces in my closet depending on what color I want to coordinate with. I will probably try wearing this landscape printed sweater with a skirt next time!
When it comes to printed pieces I find that if I pick out one (or more) colors from the print to match that I can find a great outfit. In this case I matched the bit of burgundy with my purse and finished off with some grays. I've also paired this sweater with a dusty blue and will probably try a pair of green-ish pants soon as well. You also can't go wrong with plain denim or black.

I had two weddings to go to in October, one for a cousin and the other for a friend I've had since I was very young. This is what I wore to my cousin's wedding up in Newport, Rhode Island. It was a chilly and windy day on the island so I needed this sweater to not freeze. Luckily the tent the reception was held in had heaters and we were seated right next to one, perfection!
The wedding was lovely and the bride's dress was GORGEOUS! I wish I could show you all a photo. My cousin married a very stylish woman, which I appreciate. The location was the Eisenhower House at Fort Adams State Park.
I chose one of my favorite dresses that sadly doesn't get out that much because it's pretty dressy. I bought this Burberry London dress in Net-a-Porter's End of Season sale in 2012 and it has been worn to two (I think) weddings before this. One in July and the other in June. This was it's first Fall outing. I paired it with low block heels since we would be in the grass and topped it with a simple black cardigan. If we weren't going to be in the grass I may have opted for a higher, thinner heel. But I like how it looks with these Lanvin sandals.
Dress: Burberry London printed silk chiffon dress (Net-a-Porter), Sandals: Lanvin studded leather 'City' sandal (The RealReal), Cardigan: Banana Republic Italian Cashmere-Blend Boyfriend Cardigan (shop cardigans), Italian Leather Bag: shop mini bags, Simple Pearl Necklace c/o AUrate

I still remember when I bought this top. I almost didn't do it because it was still $66 but it had so many of my favorite colors to wear that I had to do it. Good thing too because it's one of my favorite mid-weather tops! I've worn it with layers, on its own and it even kept me warm on those chilly Florida Winter days (aka slightly cold.)
I've been a Marc Jacobs fan ever since I first got into fashion so it's no surprise that I have so many bags and clothes from the brand. Shopbop has a HUGE selection of Marc Jacobs pieces and quite a few have made it on to my wishlist. I'm always drawn to the printed dresses, they're just so fun and unique. And you can't go wrong with Marc Jacobs bags, I have 3 and am always resisting buying more!

UPDATE: I should never pre-write these a week before the month is over. I made a couple purchases in last few days. One hasn't arrived yet so I'll include it next month.
I made a DSW purchase with a bunch of store credits and coupons. I bought a pair of purple suede Sam Edelman sandals which will hopefully replace my current pair that is slowly disintegrating (they're SUPER old.) Sadly they don't make the exact same style anymore but this one is similar. I also bough a cute pair of black flats to take advantage of a 25% off 2 pairs deal and wound up essentially getting those free after my $10 and 2 $5 credits. My purchase also got me a free backpack so I think I did pretty well.
UPDATE 2: I decided to add this to October since it arrived on November 1st! As I was preparing a blog post for a wedding look I wore, I came across a dress I've been wanting since 2012 (the blog proof) for $32 on eBay. I followed it and the next day the seller sent an offer of $25 for it, so I HAD to get it after texting a couple friends for the nudge I needed - aka confirmation that it was a good purchase. I can't remember the retail price from 2012 but I would say it was at least $500. Unfortunately I found out that Edun went out of business last year, which is such a shame because it was a sustainable brand and promoted artists in Africa. Now I'll cherish my 3 pieces more (and maybe buy some more secondhand if I see anything good)
Original Copy:
I made it through October without shopping! It helps that I had 3 super busy weekends at the beginning of the month so I couldn't really shop in store. I also had less extra money this month thanks to taking half of September off for my honeymoon. (the perils of freelancing and not having paid vacation!) I've been pretty good at resisting online shopping too. I just fill up carts and then abandon them to get the shopping bug out. Anyone else do that or is it just me?
I'm hoping to keep this up through the end of the year, but we'll see if any of the Black Friday/Cyber Monday sales get me! Or Net-a-Porter's Winter sale...always dangerous when that pops up! I will have some Shopbop money coming in soon thanks to my temporary partnership with them but am not sure if I'll wait until the few months is over to buy something big, or just a few things here and there.
