It has been exactly 10 years since the tragic events of September 11th 2001. I can still remember the day perfectly; I was in 8th grade and all of a sudden we started hearing rumors of something hitting the twin towers, finally in Spanish class our teacher turned on the tv so we could listen to the news. Then in all the rest of our classes all we did was watch the news to see the events unfold. We were all very young but we knew that this was BIG and not just another accident...

My grandmother, who sadly passed away a month later, was in the hospital at the time and when we went to visit her we could see the smoke from the hospital window. It was very surreal because even though we didn't live in New York we could still see the destruction. This is something I will never forget and something that has affected my life, the whole world's actually, drastically.

Most people know someone who was affected by this tragedy, but luckily no one I know was in the towers at the time. One of our family friends was actually supposed to have a meeting there that day but decided not to go for some reason, pretty lucky...

We Will Never Forget.

  5. I think everyone will always remember where they were on that horrible day. It still has the same impact on me as it did that day, I don't think the dreadful, awful feeling will ever go away when you think about what happened. I pray for those people and their families who were directly impacted by the terrorist attacks.

  9. Yes, quite interesting when you are one of those people who just decided not to go to work that day... that's what happened to a family friend. When he told us he had no idea why he was running late that day.. he just did not go... wow, I think everyone seems to remember vividly what they were doing during this tragic time.
